We were also voted number one in Competitiveness of Product, and ranked in the top three for NPS, Service Quality and Adviser Support, Claims Handling and Understanding Clients’ Needs. 

We’re particularly proud of our underwriting award as making the underwriting process simple and easy has always been one of our highest priorities, so that customers get covered faster. That’s why we’ve made several underwriting improvements over the last 12 months across both products, including:  

NEOS Protection 

  • Numerous improvements in our medical UW philosophy for the highest frequency disclosures, such as – skin lesions, migraines, BMI, sleep apnoea and wellbeing treatment. 
  • Increased mandatory medical limits – now the joint highest in the market. 
  • Preferred pricing is now available to customers with an exclusion on lump sum cover if they meet the other eligibility criteria. 

In addition to these changes, the NEOS Protection personal statement remains the most streamlined in the market. With questions focused on customers’ recent medical history (we have only 11 ‘have you ever questions’ compared to the industry standard of 25+), we aim to minimise over disclosure and in turn, increase the speed of underwriting. 

NEOS Protection & Encompass Protection  

  • Since introducing Tele Doctors’ reports, we’ve seen the turnaround times on medical reports reduce by over 50%. 
  • All doctors report requests reduced to only 22% of applications. 
  • Over 30 Underwriting Rules Engine enhancements which has seen straight through acceptance rates reach up to 40% for adviser submitted applications.
